I practice law in Nashville, Tennessee. I am a certified specialist in the practice of Consumer Bankruptcy Law. As of October 17, 2005, I became known as a Debt Relief Agency (DRA) because I assist people in filing for bankruptcy. I will bear this title pursuant to the Bankruptcy Reform Act of 2005. Let me say that because of the implementation of new laws regarding bankruptcy, there are many mistaken ideas about filing for bankruptcy now. Yes, you do have to do consumer credit counseling prior to filing bankruptcy, however, that, as well as many other concepts regarding filing bankruptcy, has been much overblown. The fact is that you can do your counseling online in about 15 minutes, and I have someone employed in my office who will take you through every step of that online process when you come in to file. Do not let concerns about lengthy counseling sessions or computer literacy affect your decision. We make that as easy as possible for you. Any other questions that arise regarding your rights, what you can keep, whether or not you should file a Chapter 7 or a Chapter 13, etc. are addressed, and I do my best to accomodate your wishes.
