Links to Videos that Contain Basic Info About Bankruptcy     Back to Main Page

The videos below contain very basic information about bankruptcy.  You might want to have a pen and paper handy as you watch as I am certain some of the comments in the videos will make you think of questions you want to ask when you see an attorney.  Watching these videos and noting questions for your consultation is a great way to prepare for your first visit to my office.

Types of Bankruptcy

Limits ofBankruptcy

Filing forBankruptcy

The Meeting of Creditors

Court Hearings

The Discharge
Some people choose to represent themselves in bankruptcy cases, however, because of the complex nature of the bankruptcy laws, it is recommended that you always have a competent attorney to represent you in a bankruptcy proceeding.  And it is important that the attorney you choose to represent you is a certified specialist in bankruptcy law.  Lawyers who are certified are required to have additional education every year to stay on top of the laws and to give you the best representation possible.

I hope you have been somewhat familiarized with the bankruptcy process by watching these videos.  Now, it's time to ask the questions you have probably come up with while watching them.  What can I keep?  What is an exemption?  Which chapter should I file?  Those are just a few of the topics covered in an initial consultation in my office which is free of charge.
